Ingredients

  • 1 - apple
  • 1.5 cups - whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup - yogurt
  • 2-3 tbsp - butter
  • 1 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1.25 cups - milk or as required
  • 1-2 tbsp - sugar
  • salt to taste
  • For honey glaze:
  • 2 tbsp - honey
  • 1 tsp - lemon juice
  • 1-2 tsp - sugar
  • 2 tsp - butter

How to Make Honey Glazed Apple Ring Pancakes

  • Core and slice the apple into thin rings and set aside.
  • Combine the remaining ingredients.
  • Heat a lightly greased griddle over medium heat.
  • Place an apple ring on the griddle. With a small ladle, slowly pour batter over the ring, starting at the centre and just enough to cover the ring.
  • Repeat with the other apple slices.
  • Cook until bubbles begin to appear.
  • Turn and cook the other side until lightly brown.
  • Serve the pancakes with butter and maple flavoured syrup or just honey glaze.
  • For honey glaze: Melt butter in a saute pan over medium-low heat.
  • Add sugar and cook, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Remove from the flame and add the lemon juice and honey.
  • Mix and coat the pancakes with the mixture.
