Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken breast fillets
  • 2 tbsp - Honey
  • 2 tbsp - hot water
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 2 Cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tsp - grated Ginger
  • oil for deep frying
  • pepper to taste
  • salt to taste
  • For batter:
  • 1 tbsp - plain flour
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 2 tbsp - water
  • 2 tsp - Honey
  • 1 tbsp - soy sauce
  • 1 Egg white
  • How to Make Honeyed Chicken Pieces:

    1. Combine the honey, water, lemon juice, garlic and ginger in a bowl.
    2. Slice the chicken into thin strips; transfer into a glass dish and brush with the honey mixture.
    3. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 12 hours.
    4. Dry chicken well and season with salt and pepper.
    5. Dip the chicken pieces into the batter, draining any excess.
    6. Heat 3-4 cm oil in a pan; add the chicken pieces, a few at a time, and cook for 2 minutes till dark golden brown.
    7. Remove from the oil; drain on paper towels.
    8. Serve hot.
    9. To make batter:
    10. Combine the flour, water, honey, oil, soy sauce in a bowl; mix until smooth.
    11. Whisk the egg white until light and fluffy.
    12. Quickly fold into flour mixture.
