Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - horse gram
  • 1 cup - ground coconut/paste
  • 2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger paste
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 2 - onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 - cloves
  • 1 piece - cinnamon

How to Make Horse Gram In Coconut Gravy

  • Soak the horse gram in water for a few hours.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cook and saute onions, cloves and cinnamon for a few minutes.
  • Add all the other ingredients along with the horse gram and 3 cups of water and mix well.
  • Pressure cook for 20 minutes till the horse gram is cooked.
  • Serve hot with plain rice and chutney.
