Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Black lentil (kali masoor)
  • 1 large - Tomato, chopped
  • 1 medium- Onion, chopped
  • 2 medium - Carrots, grated
  • 1/2 cup - Mixed vegetables (Yellow squash, Zucchini) finely chopped
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp- Jeera powder
  • 2 tsp- Olive oil
  • Chopped coriander - for garnishing
  • Water- for cooking.

How to Make Hot and sour lentil soup

  • Heat olive oil in a pan and saute the onion until pink, then add the chopped tomatoes.
  • Now add the lentils and the vegetables with 1-2 cups of water.
  • Cover and cook on medium/low heat until tender.
  • Stir it once or twice so that it does not stick to the bottom.
  • Now take oil in a pan and saute the jeera powder.
  • Add to the cooked lentils.
  • Garnish with coriander.
  • Serve hot with garlic toast or breadsticks.
