Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp -Bengal Gram dal
  • 5 dry - Red Chillies
  • 5 tbsp - Grated Coconut
  • 7-8 pieces - Tamarind
  • 1- Tomato-1
  • 2 tsp - Salt
  • 5-6 Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee

How to Make Hot Mysore Rasam

  • In 1 tbsp oil fry 1 tbsp Bengal gram dal, 5 dry red chillies, 1 tsp pepper, 2 tbsp coriander seeds.
  • Then grind this with 5 tbsp grated coconut.
  • Pressure cook 4 tbsp red gram dal.
  • Squeeze the tamarind pieces in water completely and boil it.
  • Add the ground masala and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Then add the cooked red gram dal and continue to boil for another 15 minutes.
  • In a kadai take 2 tsp mustard seeds in I tbsp ghee and fry. Season the rasam with this.
  • This should be served hot with rice. It goes well with roasted potato curry.
