Ingredients

  • Spinach - a bunch, fresh
  • Onions - 2 medium
  • Tomato sauce - 3 tbsps
  • Garlic - 6-7 pods
  • Ginger - a piece
  • Green chillies - 3-4
  • Paneer or Cottage cheese - 250 gms, pressed and cut into cubes
  • Chilli powder -1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 3 tsps
  • Pure Ghee - to garnish
  • How to Make Hot Palak Paneer:

    1. Wash the spinach and pressure cook with 1/4 cup of water.
    2. Take off after 2 whistles, cool and blend in a blender.
    3. Now make a paste of 1 onion, the garlic-ginger, green chillies and fry in a wok until brown.
    4. To this, add 1 chopped onion and the tomato sauce and fry till the oil leaves the sides of the wok.
    5. Now add the chilli powder, the coriander powder, turmeric powder and fry for 2 mins.
    6. Then add the garam masala, salt and the pureed spinach to this.
    7. Let it simmer for about 20 mins until it thickens.
    8. Add the cubed paneer pieces and garnish with the ghee.
    9. Serve hot with chapattis.
