Ingredients

  • 3 tbsps - ghee or oil
  • 1 inch - cinnamon stick
  • 1 - mace flower
  • 1 - black cardamom
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 2 - medium onions, sliced
  • 3 tsp - garlic paste
  • 1.5 tsp - ginger paste
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1.5 tsps - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 500 g - minced meat
  • 1.5 cups - water
  • 3 - green chillies
  • 1.5 tsps - salt

How to Make Hyderabadi Keema

  • Mix the oil and the whole spices in a dish and microwave at 850 W for 3 mins.
  • Add sliced onions to the spices and cook in the crisp mode for 10 mins, till the onions turn dark golden to deep brown.
  • Mix onions well, along with the garlic and ginger paste and keep in microwave at 850 W for 1 minute.
  • Stir the spices into the dish, mix well and microwave at 750 W for 2 mins.
  • Add the mince along with the water, chillies and salt and microwave at 750 W for 10 mins.
  • Stir the mince at least twice during the 10 mins to ensure that no lumps are formed.
