Ingredients

  • 1 cup - small, raw Jackfruit
  • 1 - small Coconut
  • 1/2 tsp -turmeric powder
  • 1 sprig - Curry leaves
  • 2 - dry red chillies, cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp - black gram
  • 2 tsp - Coconut oil
  • Salt as required
  • How to Make Idichakka Thoran:

    1. Slice the jackfruit into small pieces.
    2. Add salt, turmeric powder and cook the jackfruit in a little water.
    3. When cooked, mash the cooked vegetable either using the ammikallu or a mixer.
    4. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and black gram and splutter.
    5. Add curry leaves and dry red chillies and fry them for a minute.
    6. Add the crushed chakka to this and mix well.
    7. Finally add the grated coconut, saute for a while and remove from flame.
