  • 2 cups - left over idli
  • 3 cups - yogurt
  • 2 tbsp - cumin (jeera)
  • 2-3 - dry Red Chillies
  • Coriander leaves - a small bunch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Sugar as required
  • For garnishing:
  • Green chutney
  • Sweet chutney
  • Sev
  • Some chopped Onion and Tomato
  • Chat masala
  • Coriander leaves
  • How to Make Idli Dahi Wada:

    1. Beat yogurt with salt and 1/4 tsp of sugar.
    2. Dry roast jeera and red chillies and grind it to powder. Add this to the beaten yogurt with a little water.
    3. Now fry the idlis (broken in small pieces) in oil.
    4. Dip each piece of idli in the yogurt batter and deep fry until golden brown.
    5. Boil and mash the potatoes. Mix the green chillies, coriander leaves and salt.
    6. Spread tamarind chutney and green chutney on each slice, and a spoon of the potato.
    7. Serve garnished with onion, tomato, coriander and sev.
