Ingredients

  • Crabs, cut into medium size pieces - 1 kg
  • Large onions, chopped - 3
  • Large tomatoes, chopped - 3
  • Ginger paste - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Green chillies, chopped - 4
  • Fennel seeds - 1.5 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 20
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 7 tbsp
  • How to Make Indian Chilli Crab Masala:

    1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, fennel seeds and curry leaves.
    2. When the seeds starts spluttering, add onions and fry until onions turn brown.
    3. Add ginger and garlic pastes and green chillies and fry for 2 mins.
    4. Add chopped tomatoes.
    5. Cook until oil starts to separate.
    6. Add salt and the crabs and cook till done.
