  • 1 cup - black Urad Dal - (soaked overnight)
  • 3 tbsp - Rajma
  • 4 - Tomatoes - small, pureed and kept aside
  • 3 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tbsp - ginger, Garlic and Red Chilli paste
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp-meat masala
  • 1/4 cup- Milk mixed with fresh Cream
  • How to Make Indian Dal Makhni for All:

    1. Cook the dals with half the quantity of ginger garlic chilli paste, salt and 1 tbsp of butter for 1 whistle and then on slow fire for nearly 40 mins.
    2. After the pressure drops mash the dal properly and keep aside.
    3. In a cooker heat butter, add pureed tomatoes and cook till dry.
    4. Add the left over ginger garlic paste and mix well.
    5. Add meat masala, coriander powder and a little salt and cook till the ghee separates.
    6. Add this mixture to the dal and mix well.
    7. Keep the gas slow and cook till the dal has blended well and a red coloured consistency is got.
    8. Add the cream mixed with milk and mix well.
    9. Cook further for 10-15 mins.
    10. Lastly garnish with coriander leaves.
    11. Serve hot with chapatti.
