Ingredients

  • 0.5kg boneless Mutton
  • 2 tbsp Ghee or oil
  • 0.5 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • Peppercorn
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • salt to taste

How to Make Indian Mutton Roast

  • Cook mutton with 0.5 tsp salt and a few peppercorns till it is half-cooked. Strain and reserve the stock.
  • Pick out the mutton pieces and cut into 1cm pieces.
  • Heat the ghee or oil in a kadai.
  • Add the onion, garlic, ginger, and green chillies. Fry till onion is light brown.
  • Add all the powders, sprinkle with a little mutton stock and cook, stirring for 2 minutes.
  • Add the mutton and sprinkle with a little stock.
  • Keep stirring and cook till the mutton is soft and well-browned.
