Ingredients

  • 1 cup - shelled Green peas
  • 2 - large potatoes, peeled and cut into medium size pieces
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 2 - onions, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp - chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp - chopped Ginger
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 2 - large Tomatoes chopped finely
  • 2 - green chillies, slit lengthwise (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - chopped fresh coriander to garnish
  • How to Make Indian Peas And Potatoes Fry:

    1. Heat oil in a suitable pan and fry onions, chopped garlic and ginger till they become golden brown.
    2. Add potatoes and stir fry for about 3 minutes.
    3. Add tomatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt and mix well.
    4. Add green peas, sufficient water and cook covered on low heat till the potatoes and green peas are done.
    5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
    6. Serve as a side dish with rice, rotis or chapattis.
