Ingredients

  • 1 cup - shelled green peas
  • 2 - large potatoes, peeled and cut into medium size pieces
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 2 - onions, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp - chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp - chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 2 - large tomatoes chopped finely
  • 2 - green chillies, slit lengthwise (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - chopped fresh coriander to garnish

How to Make Indian Peas And Potatoes Fry

  • Heat oil in a suitable pan and fry onions, chopped garlic and ginger till they become golden brown.
  • Add potatoes and stir fry for about 3 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt and mix well.
  • Add green peas, sufficient water and cook covered on low heat till the potatoes and green peas are done.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  • Serve as a side dish with rice, rotis or chapattis.
