Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups - dhokara flour
  • 1 tsp - asafetida
  • 2 tsp - baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • 1 cup - yogurt
  • 1 cup - shredded Lauki (zucchini, carrots, spinach, Cabbage like vegetables could be used as well)
  • 1.5 cups - warm water
  • 1 tbsp - Garam Masala
  • Sesame seeds - for garnishing
  • For seasoning:
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Whole Red Chilli - 2
  • How to Make Instant Haandawo:

    1. Preheat the oven at 400 degrees. Butter a loaf pan.
    2. Mix all the ingredients except sesame seeds and seasonings.
    3. Make smooth, thick paste, beating by a wire whisk
    4. The mix will be incorporated with bubbles
    5. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, add whole red chilli.
    6. Add the seasoning to the mix
    7. Pour it in a loaf pan, sprinkle sesame seeds on top of it and bake it for about an hour
    8. Cut into pieces and serve warm.
