Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Fish/ Prawns
  • 5 - Red dry chillies, ground masala
  • 3 - Green chillies, ground masala
  • 3 - Onions, ground masala
  • 1/2 "- Ginger, ground masala
  • 6 flakes - Garlic, ground masala
  • 1 Ball - Tamarind, ground masala
  • 3 -Whole peppercorns, ground masala
  • 4 - Cloves, ground masala
  • 4 - Cinnamon pieces, ground masala
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder, ground masala
  • 1 - Onion, sliced and fried
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tsp - Vinegar for taste
  • 2 tsp - Salt for taste
  • 1 tsp - Sugar

How to Make Jeeren-Meerin

  • Grind all the ingredients for grinding into a paste.
  • Then heat oil in a pan and saute a sliced onion until brown.
  • Then add the ground masala and saute until the oil leaves the sides.
  • Now add some water, 2 tsps vinegar, 2 tsps salt, 1 tsp sugar and let it boil.
  • Then add fish or prawns and boil for 1 minute.
  • Serve with rice.
