  • 75 g - Toor Dal (or 1 cup leftover cooked dal)
  • 2 pinches Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - oil
  • 1/2 piece tender breadfruit / lanthe gudgo / kadachakka, peeled and cut into cubes or desired shape and size
  • 1 kudampuli (darmbyasole)
  • 1/2 tsp - salt (or to taste)
  • 3-4 tsp - massolu
  • How to Make Kadachakka - Breadfruit - Lanthe Gudgo:

    1. Boil toor dal in 1.5 cups water with oil and turmeric powder in pressure cooker for 20 minutes (reduce the heat after 2nd whistle and cook for 15 minutes).
    2. In a wide bowl, take cooked dal (along with stock), kadachakka pieces, salt and kudampuli.
    3. Cover with a lid and cook on a low to medium heat for 10-12 minutes or until kadachakka pieces are almost cooked.
    4. Add 3-4 tsp coconut paste / massolu (you can dilute massolu with 4 tsps water before adding so that it will mix easily with dal) and cook on a low heat for 10-12 minutes (do not add extra water). Serve with Rice / Polo / Idli / Santhan / Hittu.
