1 - Lauki

1 cup - besan

A pinch of cooking soda

1/2 cup - Onion paste

1/2 cup - Tomato puree

1/2 tsp - Cashew nut powder

1/2 tsp - Garam Masala

1 tsp - Coconut and kaska powder

1.5 tsp - Red Chilli

1/2 tsp - Ginger Garlic paste

2 tsp - Butter

Green chilli paste

A pinch of Turmeric powder

Coriander leaves

Salt to taste



  1. Grate lauki and squeeze the water from it.
  2. Keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.
  4. Add tomato puree and stir till it leaves oil.
  5. Add onion paste.
  6. Add turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, cashew powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt to taste.
  7. Add besan to lauki, green chilli paste, garam masala, ginger garlic paste, salt, and soda.
  8. Knead it and make balls out of it.
  9. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry.
  10. Add the fried kofta to gravy and garnish with fresh coriander.
  11. Serve hot.
