Ingredients

  • 2 cups - green beans, chopped to pieces of 1 inch length
  • 2 tbsp - grated Coconut - fresh/frozen
  • 2 to 3 - green chillies, low to medium spiced
  • 1 to 2 tsp - Jeera (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp - Tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp - ghee/oil
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 4 to 5 - Curry leaves
  • a pinch of Hing

How to Make Kai Kayi Huli -Vegetables in Coconut Gravy

  • Cook green beans with some salt and water. Keep aside.
  • Grind coconut, green chillies, and jeera to a smooth paste with some water.
  • Add the paste to the cooked vegetables and boil well.
  • Add tamarind paste and some salt if required.
  • Mix well and boil for a couple of more minutes.
  • Season with tempered mustard seeds, hing, and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice.
