How to Make Kai Rasam

  • First fry the poppy seeds without mixing it in oil and keep it separately.
  • Then fry coconut, red chilli, urad dhal and jeera till it turns a little brown, mix it with poppy seeds and allow it to cool down.
  • In the meantime, soak whatever vegetables you are using in tamarind water and boil them till the smell of tamarind goes away completely.
  • Grind the mixture in a blender and pour it on the vegetables and add some salt to taste.
