Ingredients

  • Lemon size - Tamarind
  • 12 to 15 - peppercorns
  • 4 - Red Chillies
  • 2 tsp - toor dal, 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 8 - kandathippili pieces
  • 5 - arisi thippili pieces
  • few - Curry leaves
  • For roasting - Ghee
  • Few - Mustard Seeds
  • To taste - salt
  • How to Make Kandathippili Rasam:

    1. Roast toor dal, peppercorns and jeera in ghee.
    2. Roast kandathippili and arisi thippili in ghee.
    3. Grind toor dal, peppercorns, jeera and curry leaves, coarsely.
    4. Extract tamarind juice, add salt and let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
    5. Then add the ground powder to it and add some more water to it.
    6. Let it boil for 2 minutes.
    7. Again add water and boil( you should not boil for a long time) for 30 seconds to 1 minute and remove from flame.
    8. Splutter mustard seed, 1 red chilli and curry leaves into it.
    9. This is very good for body pain.
