Ingredients

  • Raw jackfruit - 500 g
  • Potato - 250 g
  • Tomato - 250 g
  • Tomato puree - 1 cup
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Onion paste - 1/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/4 cup
  • Whole garam masala - (1 cinnamon, 2 cloves, 2 cardamoms)
  • Whole jeera - 2 tsp
  • Bay leaves - 4
  • Garam masala powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Oil - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 1 cup

How to Make Kanthal Curry

  • Wash and cut the jackfruit into square pieces and par boil it for 2 mins with salt and turmeric powder.
  • Cube the potatoes.
  • Heat a kadai, and add whole garam masala, whole jeera and bay leaves into it.
  • Add potato and fry it till golden brown, and remove it from kadai.
  • Now add the remaining ingredients - except jackfruit, potatoes and garam masala powder and fry them until oil separates.
  • Add jackfruit and potatoes into it and mix well.
  • Cover it for 10 mins on a low flame.
  • When oil separates, add water and boil it.
  • Cover and cook for 5 mins, add garam masala powder and remove from heat.
  • Serve hot.
