Ingredients

  • 2 cups - flour mix
  • 3 tbsp - dry coconut powder
  • 1/2 tsp - red chilli power
  • 2 tsp - poppy seeds
  • 2 - onions (finely chopped)
  • Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Kara Roti

  • For flour Mix:
  • Soak rice for 15 minutes.
  • Drain water and dry the rice in shade for two days.
  • Add 1 part of fried gram dal to the four parts of rice and grind.
  • For preparation:
  • Mix all the above ingredients together, add water and make a soft dough.
  • Knead thoroughly to make it soft and keep it aside.
  • Take a small ball of dough, roll out into a roti and cook on a hot tawa.
  • Spread 1/2 tsp of oil around the edges, lip and cook the other side.
  • Kara roti is ready.
  • Serve with coconut garlic chutney.
