  • 1 cup - wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup - besan
  • 1/2 cup - jowar flour
  • 2 karela, grated after deseeding
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - jeera/ajwain
  • 3-5 pods - garlic
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder/green chilli paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves, a few sprigs
  • Oil for roasting

How to Make Karela parota

  • In a bowl, mix wheat, besan, jowar, jeera seeds, pieces of crushed garlic, turmeric, chilli powder/paste, salt, grated karela with a tsp of oil and water to make dough.
  • Keep covered for 15 min.
  • Roll out like parota and cook on a tawa with oil.
  • Serve hot with pickle or raita.
