  • 2 cup - raw banana, sliced
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp each - mustard seeds + urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • A few - curry leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to Make Kaya Mezhukkupuratti

  • Cook the plantain pieces with turmeric powder and water, until they turn soft, strain the water and keep aside
  • Heat enough oil, splutter the mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
  • Add the chopped onions, fry until they turn translucent.
  • Add the cooked plantain pieces, red chilli powder, salt and simmer till the vegetables get well coated with the spices
  • Serve.
