Ingredients

  • Raw Rice - 1.5 cups
  • Coconut - 1/2
  • Yeast - 10 - 12
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Salt -1/2 tsp
  • How to Make Kerala Appam:

    1. Soak raw rice in water for two hours.
    2. Grind the rice with half a coconut.
    3. Add yeast, sugar and salt with the paste and mix well.
    4. Keep it overnight to ferment.
    5. The next day, make the appam in a pan over low flame, covered.
