Ingredients

  • Chicken - 5 thighs, 5 drumsticks
  • Tomato - 2
  • Onion - 1 big
  • Green chillies - 6
  • Coconut milk -1 cup
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Chicken masala - 2 tsp
  • To grind to a paste:
  • Cloves - 3
  • Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch piece
  • Ginger - A small piece
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Aniseed - 1/4 tsp

How to Make Kerala Chicken Curry

  • Slice the onion and keep aside.
  • Grind all the spices into a smooth paste.
  • Heat a pan and saute the onion in oil till golden brown.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and green chillies.
  • Add the chicken masala and the ground paste and fry it till the oil separates.
  • Add the cleaned chicken pieces into this and mix well.
  • Add a little water to it and close the lid and cook on medium flame.
  • When the meat is well cooked, add the coconut milk.
  • Stir well, add curry leaves and remove from fire.
