Ingredients

  • 1 cup - shelled, deveined raw Prawns
  • 1/2 cup - grated Coconut
  • 5 - Shallots
  • 1/4 inch - piece Ginger
  • 3-4 leaves - Curry leaves
  • 2 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1 or 2 - Green chillies
  • 1/8th tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • How to Make Kerala Style Prawn Cutlet aka Chemmeen Vada:

    1. Coarsely grind all the ingredients together in a grinder till well blended. Wet your palms and take a small portion from the mixture and make cutlets.
    2. Shallow fry in hot oil till golden brown on either side.
    3. Serve hot.
