Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - chicken, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 100g - Curd
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • A few strands of Saffron
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • For the paste:
  • 3 red chillies, deseeded
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 Star anise
  • 3 Black Peppercorns
  • 2 Cardamom pods
  • 1/2 inch long piece of Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup - chopped coriander
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 8 Cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp - Raisin
  • How to Make Kesar Dahi Chicken:

    1. Heat oil in a large pan, fry onions till brown.
    2. Add ground spices and cook for 5 minutes.
    3. Add the chicken and fry till brown.
    4. Add 2 cups of water, curd and saffron strands and simmer till the chicken is cooked.
    5. Season with salt and remove from heat.
    6. Serve this dish hot with cashewnuts and raisins on top.
