Ingredients

  • 3/4 kg - freshly made paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1.5 tin sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 heaped tbsp - milk powder
  • 1.5 tbsp - all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 3 tbsp - powdered sugar
  • A few strands of saffron soaked in 1 tbsp. water
  • 1 tbsp - lemon peel
  • Silver leaf (warq) for decorating (optional)

How to Make Kesari sandesh with lemon peel

  • Blend all ingredients except the lemon peel to a smooth paste.
  • Take a heavy-bottomed kadai or wok and heat the blended mixture.
  • When the mixture is heated through, reduce the flame.
  • Keep stirring until the mixture is dry.
  • Add the lemon peel, stir well.
  • Spread the mixture onto a greased plate and leave to cool.
  • When cool, cut into rectangular or squares.
  • Decorate with silver warq.
