Ingredients

  • 4 little thick khakras
  • 1 papad
  • 1/4 tsp - each Cumin and Mustard Seeds
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp - lemon juice
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1.5 cup - water
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)

How to Make Khakra Saag

  • Break the khakras and papads into 1" pieces roughly
  • Add oil in a sauce pan
  • Add seeds to splutter
  • Add curry leaves
  • Add water, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt
  • Bring water to boil
  • When it begins to boil add khakras and papad pieces
  • Cook on slow flame till khakras and papads are soft
  • Add lemon juice
  • Allow most of the water to soak
  • Do not make too dry
  • Add coriander leaves
  • It should be mushy to eat
  • Serve hot
