Ingredients

  • 1 - khaman dhokla mixture
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 2 flakes - Garlic crushed
  • 2 - Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 2 to 3 pinches - Asafoetida powder
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Other ingredients:
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp - coriander, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup - fine sev
  • 2 to 3 tbsp - green chutney
  • 2 tbsp - sweet Tamarind chutney
  • How to Make Khaman Dhokla Chaat:

    1. Steam dhokla as per instructions on packet.
    2. Do not add seasoning.
    3. Break into chunks, cool to room temperature.
    4. Break into crumbs with hand, then pass through a large holed mesh.
    5. Mixture should resemble coarse bread crumbs.
    6. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, allow to splutter.
    7. Add garlic, chilli, onions and saute till transparent.
    8. Add khaman crumbs and take off heat.
    9. Gently mix together and set aside.
    10. Warm crumbs in microwave.
    11. To serve:
    12. Put a tbsp or more of crumbs in individual bowls.
    13. Drizzle the chutneys.
    14. Top with chopped onions, sev and coriander.
    15. Serve immediately.
