Ingredients

  • 3 - Potatoes
  • 2 - Onions (sliced)
  • 1 - Tomato (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 cups - water
  • 4 - Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tsp - Ginger (minced)
  • Oil
  • 2 tbsp - Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt

How to Make Khara Papeta (Parsi Potato Curry)

  • Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes.
  • Heat the oil, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Saute the onions till they turn golden brown, add the minced garlic cloves, minced ginger pieces, and saute again for a while.
  • Add the cubed potatoes, chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder, and saute for a few minutes.
  • Add water and cook on medium flame until the potatoes are done.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot.
