  • 1 big - raw mango
  • 2 tbsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 3/4 cup - jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp - roasted cumin
  • 1/2 tsp - roasted mustard

How to Make Khatta mitha mango achaar

  • Cut the raw mango into small pieces and add salt to it.
  • Keep this in a ceramic/glass bowl for one full day.
  • The next day, take a thick bottom vessel.
  • Put the mango pieces along with salty water and jaggery into the vessel.
  • Start boiling it.
  • Add red chilli powder, cumin and mustard powder to it.
  • Keep boiling till the colour of the mango changes and becomes tender.
  • Cool it and transfer it into a glass jar.
  • This makes a tasty pickle for children.
  • The shelf life is around one month.
