  • 100 g - Poppy Seeds
  • 8 tbsp - Sugar
  • 8 tbsp - Ghee
  • ½ liter - Milk
  • 8 to 9 green Cardamoms (powdered)
  • 15 Almonds (finely sliced)
  • How to Make Khus Khus Jo Seero (Poopy Seeds Halwa):

    1. Soak the poppy seeds in water overnight.
    2. Wash in such a way that any residual mud is deposited at the bottom.
    3. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel.
    4. Add the poppy seeds and fry, stirring continuously on a low flame till it turns deep golden brown.
    5. Immediately add the milk and powdered cardamoms. Keep stirring.
    6. When the milk dries up add sugar and saute on a slow flame for 10 more minutes taking care that it does not stick bottom of the vessel.
    7. Place the vessel on a preheated tawa and let it simmer for few minutes.
    8. Serve hot, garnished with sliced almonds.
