Ingredients

  • 1 cup - dried and kidney beans (rajma), soaked over night
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp - Ginger and Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala/all spice powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to Make Kidney Beans (Rajma) Curry

  • Wash kidney beans/rajma and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker and fry the onions till they turn golden brown.
  • Add tomatoes ginger and garlic paste and fry well.
  • Now add the soaked kidney beans/rajma and all the other ingredients and mix well.
  • Add sufficient water and pressure cook for about 20 mins till the kidney beans/rajma become soft.
  • Serve with chapattis or bread.
