Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup - Kodo millet
  • 3 tbsp - Yellow moong dal
  • 3 cups - Milk
  • 1.5 cups - Rock candy Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • A few Cashew nuts
  • A few Raisins
  • Ghee (as needed)
  • How to Make Kodo Millet and Rock Candy Sugar Pongal:

    1. Wash the kodo millet and moong dal and place in a pressure cooker.
    2. Add the milk and rock candy sugar, and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
    3. Once the steam is released, add the cardamom powder and simmer.
    4. Finally fry the cashew nuts and raisins in enough ghee and add them to the cooked sweet pongal.
    5. Stir once.
    6. Serve warm.
