Ingredients

  • Chicken - 1 kg
  • Red Chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Oil|- 3-4 tsp | Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Curds - 4 tsp
  • Onion - 1 (chopped)
  • Coriander powder - 2 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1.5 tsp
  • Coriander for garnishing
  • Salt to taste
  • Ingredients for ground paste:
  • Dry Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Onions - 2
  • Tomato -1
  • Ginger - 2 inches
  • Garlic - 8-10 pods
  • Roast the above in little oil and grind to fine paste.
  • How to Make Kolhapuri Chicken Curry:

    1. Marinate chicken with curd, salt and turmeric for 2 hours.
    2. In pre-heated oil, add cut onions and fry till golden brown.
    3. Add marinated chicken and keep stirring.
    4. Add one liter of warm water and cook on medium flame, till almost done.
    5. Remove and keep aside.
    6. Separately, heat oil and add ground paste, garam masala powder and add salt to taste.
    7. Keep stirring till oil starts separating from masala.
    8. Add chicken and cook till done.
    9. Garnish with coriander.
    10. Serve hot.
