Ingredients

  • 2 cups - Horse gram/Lentils/Kollu
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 2 - Green chillies (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - Ginger (chopped)
  • 5 - Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - Fennel seed powder
  • Salt
  • Oil for Deep Frying

How to Make Kollu Masala Vadai

  • Soak the horse gram for at least two hours, drain the water and grind into a coarse paste without water.
  • If it is too hard to grind, sprinkle some water.
  • Add the chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, fennel seed powder and salt, and mix well.
  • Heat the oil for Deep Frying, take a small ball from the horse gram-spice mixture, flatten in your palms and gently add to the hot oil.
  • Fry until well done.
  • Drain the excess oil with a paper towel.
  • Serve hot with spicy coconut chutney.
