Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 3 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Half a tsp - chilli powder
  • 2 tsp - crushed Garlic
  • 1 tsp - grated Ginger
  • 2 whole chillies
  • 2 tsp - Tomato puree
  • 150 gms - peeled, chopped Tomatoes
  • 6 fish steaks
  • 2 tsp - salt or to taste
  • Water, if necessary
  • Handful of chopped Coriander leaves for garnish

How to Make Koori fish

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the powders and fry for 3 mins, stirring frequently.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients (except the water and coriander leaves) stir for 2 mins, cover and cook on low heat for 30 mins. until the fish flakes off easily.
  • If it begins to dry out before the fish is done, add a drop of water to aid the cooking.
  • Garnish with the chopped coriander leaves before serving.
