Ingredients

  • Udon noodles - 18 oz
  • 4 tbsp - Jajang (Korean dark soybean paste)
  • 4 oz - chopped Pork Meat
  • 2 - Onions
  • 4 oz - Cabbage
  • 1/4 cup - Cucumber
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Garlic
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Ginger
  • 2 tsp - Sugar
  • 5 tbsp - oil
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • For starch water: 2 tbsp - starch
  • 2 tbsp - water
  • How to Make Korean Style Noodle (Jajang-myun):

    1. In a skillet, stir jajang and 4 tbsp oil over medium high heat for 3 mins.
    2. Chop pork meat, and cut cabbage and onion into 1/3 inch cubes.
    3. Boil udon noodle for about 4-5 mins and drain water.
    4. On a skillet, stir fry garlic and ginger with1 tbsp oil.
    5. Stir in chopped pork meat and keep cooking.
    6. When pork is cooked, stir in onion and cabbage.
    7. When everything is cooked, stir in cooked jajang, 1/2 cup water, and sugar.
    8. Keep cooking until water boils vigorously.
    9. Pour in starch water and stir till the gravy thickens.
    10. In a big bowl, place Udon noodle, and pour jajang gravy and serve with sliced cucumbers on top.
