How to Make

  • Soak rice and moong dal separately.
  • Remove water and keep aside.
  • Boil 3 cups of water in a vessel.
  • Cut garlic flakes into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a small pressure cooker.
  • Add garlic pieces and fry till light brown.
  • Now, add asafetida, cumin and turmeric powder.
  • Add soaked rice and fry for a while.
  • Add moong dal and again stir fry.
  • Now, add jeera powder, coriander powder, chilli powder and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Add 3 cups of boiling water.
  • Pressure cook for 4 - 5 min.
  • You can add ghee to enhance taste once it is cooked.
