  • 2 cups - white flour
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 4 tbsp - ghee
  • 2 cups - water
  • Nutmeg powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cloves - 2
  • Dry coconut, grated - 1/2 cup
  • Almonds or cashews or pistas, chopped
  • Raisins - a few
  • Oil

How to Make Lavang lata

  • Make a mix of coconut, raisins, nuts, and pinches of nutmeg and cardamom.
  • In a saucepan, make sugar syrup of 2 string consistency.
  • Keep it warm on the stove.
  • Add ghee and water to the flour and knead into a hard dough.
  • Roll the dough into small pooris.
  • Fold the three edges in to make a pocket and fill 1 tsp of the coconut mix.
  • Close the fourth flap and anchor it with a clove.
  • Deep fry in oil on a low flame.
  • Dip in chasni and drain.
