2 cups - white flour

1 cup - Sugar

4 tbsp - Ghee

2 cups - water

Nutmeg powder - 1/2 tsp

Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

Cloves - 2

Dry coconut, grated - 1/2 cup

Almonds or cashews or pistas, chopped

Raisins - a few



  1. Make a mix of coconut, raisins, nuts, and pinches of nutmeg and cardamom.
  2. In a saucepan, make sugar syrup of 2 string consistency.
  3. Keep it warm on the stove.
  4. Add ghee and water to the flour and knead into a hard dough.
  5. Roll the dough into small pooris.
  6. Fold the three edges in to make a pocket and fill 1 tsp of the coconut mix.
  7. Close the fourth flap and anchor it with a clove.
  8. Deep fry in oil on a low flame.
  9. Dip in chasni and drain.
