Ingredients

  • 8 pieces fresh sandwich bread slices
  • thin slices of boiled Potato-roughly 8 slices out of a semispherical half of a Potato
  • thin slices of fresh Onion-roughly 8 slices out of a semispherical half of an Onion
  • wafer thin slices of half a Tomato-about six slices drawn out of less than half Tomato
  • Garlic thinly scrapped or juliened or crushed
  • one Green chilli -finely cut into small pieces
  • Coriander -finely chopped-about two sprigs
  • about 50-75 gm of cheese spread(any flavour)
  • about 50-75 gm pasteurized Butter
  • four tbsp of Tomato sauce

How to Make Layered Cheesewiches

  • Cut the corners of the 8 bread slices using bread knife.
  • On two bread slices spread evenly two tbsp. full of tomato sauce.
  • Place four slices of boiled potato on each of the above sauced bread slices.
  • Salt the potato layers with pinches, anoint each potato slice with pinch of chilli sauce and place processed chilles, ginger and coriander on top of each potato slice.
  • Take two more bread slices and spread 25 gm of cheese evenly.
  • Place the cheese portion on top of sliced potato portion of the other two bread slices.
  • Apply some butter over the reverse side of recently placed bread slices.
  • Take two more bread slices and apply tomato sauce on a one inch border on all four sides of each bread
  • Fill the middle portion(within borders) of these breads by applying chilli sauce.
  • Place the four onion slices on each of these breads.
  • Salt the onion layers with pinches, anoint each onion slice with pinch of chilli sauce and place processed chilles, ginger and coriander on top of each onion slice
  • Take two more bread slices and apply 25 gm of butter evenly
  • Place the butter portion on top of sliced onion portion of the other two bread slices.
  • Now place on top of two breads having cheese(as at 6 above) the two breads having butter (as at 13 above). Gently press by hand.
  • Now bind tight the sandwiches with sewing thread in a manner to hold them together and place in microwave and roast till golden yellow.
  • Serve piping hot with tea/coffee/beer/wine
