Ingredients

  • Leftover Dal (and/or Sambhar)
  • 1/2 cup each of Wheat flour, Rice flour, gram flour
  • a Clove of Garlic (grated or finely cut)
  • 2 Green chillies (finely cut)
  • asafoetida, Turmeric powder and salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp oil and oil for shallow fry or deep fry

How to Make Leftover Dal Pancakes

  • Add all the ingredients including 1/2 tsp oil together.
  • For deep frying, roll into small Pooris and deep fry in Kadai.
  • For shallow frying, add water if necessary so as to make the mixture like pancakes (or Uttappam, Dosa, etc).
  • Put a little oil on a griddle and spread 2 tbsp (or as appropriate) of the mixture. Turn and add 2-3 drops of oil at the sides.
  • Serve with Ketchup or coconut Chutney or pickle.
