Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp - Jaggery
  • For masala:
  • 3 to 4 - small pieces of Coconut
  • 4 to 5 - Red Chillies
  • 1 tbsp - Channa dal
  • 1 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 1 tsp - Jeera
  • 1/4 tsp - Fenugreek seeds
  • How to Make Lemon Goju:

    1. Roast the masala ingredients light brown.
    2. Grind the masala ingredients with little water and make a smooth paste.
    3. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
    4. Add ground paste and simmer for 5-8 minutes.
    5. Add salt, lemon juice and jaggery.
    6. Add little water and stir it well.
    7. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until it thickens.
    8. The tangy goju can be served with rice, chapatti or with pickle.
