Ingredients

  • 1 - lemon, big
  • 1 cup - raw Rice
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric
  • Asafetida, a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Cashew nuts, a small quantity
  • Mustard, a small quantity
  • 4 - Green chillies
  • 2 tsp - Bengal Gram
  • 1 tsp - black gram
  • Groundnuts, a small quantity
  • Coriander leaves, a small quantity
  • Curry leaves, a small quantity

How to Make Lemon Rice

  • Keep raw rice in cooker.
  • Meanwhile squeeze lemon in a small bowl and mix turmeric, asafoetida and required salt to it. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard, Bengal gram, black gram, green chillies, groundnuts, cashew nuts and curry leaves.
  • Once all these are fried, pour lemon juice and let the mixture boil for about 2 minutes.
  • Then add this mixture to the boiled rice.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
