  • 1.5 cups - All-purpose flour
  • 2 -Eggs
  • 1/2 cup - Butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - Baking soda
  • 1 tsp - Baking powder
  • 1 tsp - Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup - Buttermilk
  • Juices from 2 limes
  • 1 tbsp - Lime zest
  • 1/4 tsp - Salt
  • Lime Sugar glaze:
  • 1/4 cup - Confectioners' Sugar
  • 1 tsp - Lemon juice
  • How to Make Lime Buttermilk Pound Cake:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit.
    2. Combine the flour with baking soda, baking powder and salt.
    3. Beat the butter and sugar together until it turns soft.
    4. Add the eggs one by one, add the vanilla extract, lime juice and lime zest, slowly add the flour and buttermilk and fold into a smooth batter.
    5. Pour the cake batter into a greased mould or a silicon round mould and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown.
    6. Mix the sugar and juice till it turns into a thick glaze. If it is thin add more sugar.
    7. Remove the cake from the mould, pour the glaze over the cake and spread evenly.
    8. Decorate with chocolate sprinkles.
