Ingredients

  • 1 - lime
  • 1 small piece - ginger, finely scraped
  • 1 tsp - ground pepper
  • 1 - tomatoes
  • 2 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 1 tsp - methi
  • 1 cup - cooked toor dal
  • 1 tbsp - jeera seeds
  • chopped coriander.

How to Make Lime Rasam

  • Put 1 tbsp oil and mustard in the pot and let it pop.
  • Then, add methi and fry till it turns red.
  • Then add the green chillies, tomatoes, ginger and turmeric powder and let it fry for 5 minutes.
  • Add water and salt to the mixture and let it boil.
  • Then, add jeera and pepper.
  • Make the cooked thor dal into a pulp and add it to the boiling mixture in the pot.
  • Add water to thin the rasam.
  • Remove the rasam from the stove to cool it down.
  • Before serving, squeeze some lime juice, add some chopped coriander and salt into the rasam.
  • Serve it with rice.
