Ingredients

  • For the Litty:
  • 2 cups - whole wheat flour
  • For sattu:
  • 1 cup - Bengal gram, roasted and powdered
  • 3 - chilli
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp - lime juice
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tbsp - minced ginger and garlic
  • 3 tsp - ghee
  • For the Chokha:
  • 2 - potato, boiled
  • 1 - brinjal
  • 2 - tomato
  • Chilli - 3
  • Garlic - 5 cloves, minced
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - a few sprigs

How to Make Litty Chokha

  • Prepare a dough with whole wheat flour, enough water, 1 tbsp ghee and a little salt.
  • Prepare the sattu masala by adding all ingredients. Add a little water to make it moist so that it holds when made into balls
  • Make balls of the dough about 1.5 inch diameter and make into cup shapes and fill it with sattu masala and close the edges.
  • Bake them at 200 degree C in the oven for 10 to 15 mins rotating each side from time to time and brushing with ghee
  • Choka:
  • Prick the brinjal with a fork on all sides
  • Grill it until the skin burns.
  • In a skillet heat 1 tsp of oil
  • Chop the tomatoes and chillies
  • Add the chillies, garlic, salt, fry a little add the boiled potatoes.
  • Peel off the burnt skin of brinjal and add mashed brinjal to the skillet.
  • Stir well, mash the whole mix and remove from fire
  • Sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves
  • Serve.
