  • 2 - lobsters
  • 2 - big onions
  • 1" piece - ginger
  • 4 flakes - garlic
  • 1 tsp - each of garam masala, ground cumin seeds and turmeric powder
  • 2 - medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 50 g - tomatoes, blanched and sliced
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • salt and chilli powder to taste

How to Make Lobster Kalia

  • Boil lobsters in salted water, drain and cool and remove meat from the shells.
  • Grind onion, ginger and garlic.
  • Fry potatoes to a light golden colour.
  • Also fry the lobster meat to a golden colour.
  • Heat 4 tbsps. oil and add bay leaves and onion paste.
  • Fry to a golden colour.
  • Add salt and all the spices and tomatoes and fry till dry.
  • Put in lobster meat and potatoes and mix well.
  • Cover with water and cook till the potatoes are done and gravy is thick.
  • Remove from fire and sprinkle garam masala on top.
  • Pour 2 tbsps. of melted pure ghee and serve hot.
